Life is unpredictable. While you may be able to plan most visits to the dentist, accidents can happen and things like toothaches can occur. When these situations arise, it is a good idea to contact our office right away for an emergency appointment. The sooner you are able to come in to our office, the easier it will be to treat the problem. This is especially true if you have lost a tooth due to trauma. Some examples of dental emergencies include:

  • A broken, cracked or chipped tooth: An accident or trauma can cause damage to your tooth that should be treated as soon as possible.
  • A tooth that has been completely or partially knocked out: A tooth that has been knocked out may be able to be successfully placed back in its socket if you see our dentists in time.
  • A severe toothache or other type of oral pain from a tooth or gum abscess: These are brought on by an infection of the teeth or gums and may not be a contact pain.
  • A lost filling or crown: Accidents or decay can result in loosened or lost dental restorations.
